1.    First you'll explore this site and find all the

       various links to other webpages that deal with

       Edgar Allan Poe.

 

2.    Once you are comfortable with navigating this

       site, review the task page for more 

       information.

 

3.    Go to this site that gives great detail on Poe. 

       Read some of his works and get a feel for his

       style of writing.

 

4.    Specifically, read "The Black Cat" and the

      "Tell-Tale Heart."  Take notes and identify the

       main character, setting and conflict of both

       stories.

 

5.    Read the poem, "The Raven" and summarize

       in your own words, what is taking place. 

       Keep in mind the setting, main character, and

       conflict.

 

6.    When you have read the stories and poem,

       you will then create your own poem or story

       inspired by the works of Poe.  If you need to,

       read or reread some of the other works in  

       order to get a better feel for the style.  In

       other words, write a horror story or poem.
